FAQ - Winamp Skins [back to main FAQ section]

1. How do I use the Winamp Skins?
2. What do I do with this zipfile?
3. What version of WinAmp do I need for your skins?
4. Where can I get WinAmp?

5. What IS WinAmp??

1. It's answered in this FAQ! (I know it's lame).

2. Open it up with a tool like WinRAR, WinZip or 7-Zip. Note that only the last one is freeware. Inside is a .wsz file; extract it to your Skins subfolder of your folder where WinAmp is installed in (most of the time in C:\Program Files\Winamp\). Now, open WinAmp, and press ALT and S simultaneously. Now select the skin from the menu you'll see.

3. The skins were made for WinAmp 2.x in mind. The do work in WinAmp3, but not all areas will be skinned. So I recommend using WinAmp 2.x. A beta version of WinAmp5 has been leaked and can be downloaded from http://. I generally advice you use WinAmp 2.x; it's faster and doesn't have as many bugs as WinAmp3.

4. WinAmp 2.x and 3.x can be downloaded from http://www.winamp.com/.

5. WinAmp is a freeware audio player designed for playing .mp3 files, but it can handle much more formats. It's small, skinnable, has many plugins and it looks cool too! Go download it!
