FAQ - Wallpapers [back to main FAQ section]
These answers are for the Windows OS only.
1. How do I use the wallpapers?
2. How can I save the wallpapers for later use?
3. What resolution do I have to select?
4. How do I make my own wallpaper?
1. Choose a resolution (800x600 or 1024x768) and click it. A new window will pop up with the wallpaper. When you want to set it as a wallpaper immediately, right-click it and choose 'Set as Background'. You may be prompted to enable the Active Desktop. If so, select Yes (unless you have reasons not to do so).
2. When you see the wallpaper in your browser window, right-click it and select 'Save Picture As...'. Select a location to save the image to. After that you can select your wallpaper via the Display Properties (right-click desktop, choose Properties, etc.)
3. You can check your resolution with the bare eye, but for the unfamiliar you can go to the Display Properties. You can do so by right-clicking the desktop and selecting Properties. After that, click on the tab named Settings. You'll see something like this;

Your resolution is displayed there. It might also be wise to select a color depth of 24 or 32 bit to fully enjoy the colors of the wallpaper. Not every computer is able do display colordepths of 32 bit, so you may choose 24 or 16 bit colors in that case. If you can't even do that, you might have to install a display driver or your computer is horribly outdated.
4. You can do so if you're very
creative and have tools like
Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop.
You may also use MS Paint, but your wallpapers will probably look awful.
