1. That's answered in this FAQ. It can't really be said quickly,
so read the questions in this FAQ to see which question you need answered.
2. Once you've downloaded them, open up the .zip file with a utility like
WinRAR or
WinZip. Freeware tools as
7-Zip or
zARC will do the job too, but I
prefer to use WinRAR. Windows XP has built-in support for zipfiles, so you can
double-click it to open it. Inside the zipfile you'll find a file named
NintendoCursors18b.exe. It's a 7-zip SFX
module. Open it and you'll see the following window:

In this window you've got to point the program to a location where it will put (extract) the cursors. By default, this will be the location you start this program from, but you'll need to put the cursors somewhere else. I prefer the location C:\WINDOWS\CURSORS\. You can check the cursor location by clicking this link and see if a new window pops up with the cursors folder. If that's the case, extract the cursors to C:\WINDOWS\CURSORS\. If not, you may browse to your specific cursors subfolder in the Windows folder with the little button with 3 dots on it. After extraction, no more windows will appear to notify you, but it'll be allright.
After that's done, you can select the cursors.
3. After you extracted the cursors to some place on your harddisk (preferably C:\WINDOWS\CURSORS) go to the Control Panel (Start, Settings, Control Panel). Then, go to Mouse. You can also click this link (choose Open) if you have Windows XP. Then go to the tab named 'Pointers'. Select the cursor with the text 'Busy' left of it. Then select 'Browse...'. You'll be in a folder named 'Cursors'. Go to the subfolder named 'NintendoCursors'. In this folder are more subfolders with names like 'Mario' or 'Yoshi'. Inside these folders are the cursors themselves. If you want to see them with their actual sizes, right-click in the folder and select View, then Icons. You may select a cursor you like. Please note that the cursors I made are designed as a replacement for the hourglass cursor, so don't use them instead of the arrow. Only the cursors in the folder named 'Arrows' should be used instead of the standard arrow. For an extra neat effect you may also select 'Enable pointer shadow', although this will only work in Windows 2000 and XP.

4. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think so. Unless your OS can handle .ani files, there's no support for other OS'es than Windows. The cursors work with all Windows versions from Windows 95 on. The cursors are best enjoyed on Windows 2000 or XP, since pointer shadow is enabled on them. This gives cursors an extra neat effect.

With or without drop shadow. For me a reason to use Windows XP :P. Well, one of the reasons actually.
5. Removal is easy. Go to the folder you installed the cursors in and remove the entire folder named NintendoCursors. If you followed my advice, this folder will be located in C:\WINDOWS\CURSORS. That's all the files there are.
6. Fairly easy. Open up the Mouse properties from the Control Panel (See question/answer 3). Then, select a cursor you want the default one back for. Now click the button 'Use Default'. And you're back to the normal Microsoft cursor. Repeat this for the cursors you want to change.
7. Editing can be done with tools like MicroAngelo (http://www.microangelo.us/). Click here if you want to see a screenshot of it.
8. You probably selected one of my cursors for use instead of the normal arrow pointer. Most of my cursors aren't designed as a replacement for the arrow, but for the hourglass cursor. So it's not advisable to point with a moving Donkey Kong cursor for example. Some cursors however (those in the subfolder named 'Arrows' can be used as pointers. For file locations, see question/answer 3).
9. No. Please don't ask. I already made some Golden Sun cursors, and I'm not gonna make any more of them. None of Golden Sun 2 either ;).
