My experiences with Emulation 1/2/3/4
Here are some screenshots of Snes9x running a game in Windowed mode.

I've been an emulation fanatic since 1998. In our class at school Pokemon was a bit popular among some, and some of them were playing the Gameboy ROM of Pokemon on a PC. They used No$gmb, a DOS emulator. I was totally fascinated by it, and played Pokemon Red to death on my PC. After that I became interested in SNES emulation, because a classmate had ZSNES and played it sometimes. I've never had a SNES, and I loved to play all the games I really wanted to play at the time they were out (especially the Donkey Kong Country series). I played around with Snes9x for several years, and became still more enthousiastic. From 2001 on I became interested in GBA emulation, although I see it as wrong, because it's an alive console. I couldn't care about the SNES at the time, because I couldn't really buy one anyway. From then on, I started to look for emulators for various systems, including the N64 (which I own one of as well), NES, PSX and finally MAME.
I see emulation as something totally cool. It also makes one able to do some very creative stuff. You can listen/record music of games, make screenshots, extract animations, etc. Especially extraction animations is something I did quite often some time ago. That's why this website exists; I onverted many animations to animated. cursors. The animations are called 'sprites' as well. You might find some interesting websites with animated game sprites when searching for them. As for me, I made some animated gif files of sprites from the Donkey Kong Country games, as well as some other games. You may find them in the Sprites section.
MAME is a whole different story in emulation world. If you want to read some about it, continue to page 4.
